There’s no better way to show the value of upcycling than to showcase innovative uses of scrap and renewable raw materials.

At the inaugural Art in the Park Festival organised by the Kuala Lumpur City Council in 2014, we introduced two of our grantees – Rags2Riches from the Philippines and Thien Chi from Vietnam – among the line-up of activities at the Kuala Lumpur Perdana Botanical Gardens.

Over an activity packed weekend, artisans from award-winning Rags2Riches created their own colourful installations and conducted popular workshops on creating their signature weave. Meanwhile, AirAsia Allstar volunteers demonstrated how to double the green impact of cycling by choosing bicycles made of bamboo!
